POSITION
Cell Culture and Protein Purification Specialist/Lab Manager.
This position provides an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and growing manufacturing laboratory working within a ISO9001 quality assured environment. Additionally, there is the opportunity to progress into a laboratory management role. Training will be proved as required.
COMPANY OVERVIEW
The Antibody Company, TAC, is a contract manufacturing organisation which specialises in the production of antibodies from hybridoma and recombinant cell lines. TAC excels in partnering closely with clients to deliver their projects; ranging from antibody development and production through process development to immunoassay development.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
As a client oriented company, priorities can often change quickly. The successful candidate must be highly motivated, flexible and able to multi-task: whilst working to the highest standards. They will be responsible for the following
1. LABORATORY
Working to GMP and ISO9001 standards you would follow existing SOPs and protocols to maintain cell lines, perform antibody purification and related assays. Keep records up to date and report and follow up any deviations. Ensure the workspace is clean, tidy and well organised.
2. ADMINISTRATIVE
Working to ISO9001 standard; maintaining calibration of equipment, maintaining stocks of materials and reagents. Ordering materials and equipment. Keeping databases up to date.
3. ADDITIONAL
Development and optimisation of manufacturing processes eg cell growth, antibody expression, antibody purification and immunoassay development. Establishing and updating SOPs, training new staff, maintaining training records, keeping up to date with, and implementing, the latest quality and safety requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Essential
• Degree in a relevant Life Sciences discipline • Highly motivated and organised
• Self managing and proactive
Desirable
• Experience of mammalian cell culture in an industrial environment • Aseptic technique
• Protein purification and analysis skills
• Knowledge of immunoassays
